Over the years, I have transitioned from maglite, to pelican now to
surefire for my handheld lights. I recovered a military truck in a dark,
cold barn with nothing but a surefire head lamp on for hours and
hours...lots of banging around on metal. I really didn't see having
night vision goggles anytime in the foreseeable future, and was worried
as to what might transpire in the night, even with an ACOG scope.
I
waited for a moonless night, and lit it up towards the woods across a
lawn...I was really surprised by how much light this throws out in a
focused beam! I had a friend turn it on me from about 30 yards, and it
is blinding.
Maybe there is some sort of 'instant dim' feature on the newer generation night vision goggles, but can't help but believe that this light would certainly even things out. Inside a house, it is like daylight. Outside it is super light to see everything. Well worth it. Brand spankin new and delivered way ahead of schedule.

I looked at a lot of weapon lights for my patrol rifle before settling
on the SureFire M620 Ultra. I almost went with the M600, but I felt
that the quality of the mount that you get with the M620 made it worth
the additional expense.
Once I received the light I was VERY impressed. The build quality is excellent, which I expected considering the price. The mount was definitely worth it. It is a very solid, robust mount without having undue weight. The tape switch works very well without being overly sensitive. It throws a TON of light. They aren't lying about the 530 lumens output.
I've been extremely impressed with light and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality light for their rifle.
